I’ve always had a deep love for capital markets, business development and investor relations...I relish building long-term partnerships and being an ambassador for the firm.

Growing up, there were nine of us jammed in a three-bed apartment
That formative experience is still embedded in me and has been the driving force behind my support for organizations like America Needs You (ANY), which helps first-generation college students get internships. To date, we’ve helped over 2,000 young adults secure internships at companies like Google, Facebook, BlackRock and Goldman Sachs. Coming from the inner city and having parents who were immigrants that came here with no family, money or infrastructure, I understand the barriers facing those interested in finance. Who was going to tell me about Wall Street or investment banking? I was fortunate to benefit from programs like ANY, and get internships that ultimately turned into a successful career. I wanted to help young people who are talented, but don’t have wealthy family members or anyone to help them navigate the system. I’m proud of the work we’ve done.
Building long-term relationships is the best part of my role
I’ve always had a deep love for capital markets, business development and investor relations. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in roles that combine all three. I started my career in prime brokerage at Goldman Sachs, and I’ve now been on Wall Street for 23 years without a break. I’ve known many of the clients I speak to for more than 15 years. In addition to understanding their investment needs, I often know their families. I relish those aspects of the job – building long-term partnerships and being an ambassador for the firm.
Advent was way ahead of its time
When Peter Brooke founded Advent, he had a vision to create one of the first international private equity firms with multiple offices across the globe. Today, Advent has 14 offices across 12 countries on four continents. There are people from all over the world, with different professional and personal backgrounds and perspectives. It’s a firm with knowledge-sharing deeply embedded into its DNA, and we’re leveraging the experience and insights of colleagues across the network every day.
Working out keeps me fit for the demands of this role
I enjoy my job and believe that’s essential to be able to thrive in a high-pressure environment. Outside work, I’ve always been into fitness. I won Mr. Penn bodybuilding competition back in 1998 at my university, and I still like working out. Beyond that, I love spending time with my family, and try to make it home to see them every night.
