In another life, I would have been a police detective
I’ve been a curious person since I was young. I love studying the intricacies of things that on the surface seem simple, then peeling back the layers, taking everything apart and seeing how things really work. You must keep pulling at that thread. That’s when the real excitement happens – when you unearth something that others have not. The investment world tends to reward that type of curiosity. The landscape is constantly shifting, and there are always new questions to ask and new areas to investigate.

I’ve worked for people who took the time to invest in me
This is an apprenticeship business, and I’m lucky enough to have worked for some great investors who took the time to invest in me. I think it’s important to pass that along and give it back, especially to people who think that finance isn’t a place for them. That’s why we started our internship program three years ago, aimed at giving individuals from underrepresented groups a first-hand experience of working in finance. Our interns have gone on to secure full-time positions at several prestigious finance and consulting firms. It’s rewarding to know that we helped ignite their interest, and armed them with valuable skills to help them reach their full potential.
My mind becomes clearer when my body is working
I find that working is exercise for my mind. When I’m not working, I exercise my body to keep it in balance, and my mind becomes clearer. I enjoy running, rowing, hiking, and skiing in beautiful natural surroundings. That’s how I relax.
